ALL-PARTY MPs IN FUNDRAISING SAIL

Richard Ottaway, Conservative Member of Parliament for Croydon South, will tomorrow Saturday 26th June, be crewing for disabled sailors in the Round the Island Race, to raise funds for the British Paralympic Association to enable the British Paralympic Team to travel to Athens in September for the Paralympic games.

Richard Ottaway has kindly been leant Peter Harrison's Farr 50ft yacht, "Chernikeeff 2" and, together with five other members of the House of Commons Yacht Club, will be sailing round the Isle of Wight in the Round the Island Yacht Race which starts at Cowes at 6am on Saturday 26th June. The yacht will be skippered by Andy Cassell, our Atlanta gold-medal winning Paralympic sailor.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"We have had a tremendous response from our call for sponsorship. We have raised over £55,000 so far and the cheques are still coming in. I can think of no better cause than to support these inspiring athletes. This is a worthy effort and I am proud to be part of it."
