OTTAWAY CALLS ON ELECTRICITY COMPANY TO SPEED UP REPAIRS

Richard Ottaway, Conservative MP for Croydon South, has called on EDF Energy to speed up its repair service and reduce the time residents have to put up with noisy generators.

"Following a power cut last week an emergency generator was installed in Old
Fox Close last Wednesday. Whilst residents appreciated the return of their
electrical services the noise produced by this generator has been horrendous."

"I am most concerned that repair work was suspended over this hot weekend
leaving residents with this dreadful noise going on but with no progress with
fixing the problem. At least if the repairs had continued over the weekend the
residents would have had two days less noise aggravation this week. It has
certainly made the opening of any windows or relaxing in the garden utterly
impossible for those residents living close by."

"I have contacted EDF Energy who advise that the repair work should be
completed by this Wednesday and the generator can then be removed."
