OTTAWAY CLARIFIES POSITION FOLLOWING MISUNDERSTANDINGS OVER RED ROUTE

Following the distribution of a leaflet in Kenley opposing the introduction of a Red Route for Godstone Road, Richard Ottaway MP has sought to emphasise his opposition to the scheme.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"I share the views voiced in this anonymous leaflet. Kenley will suffer if this Red Route is introduced and those who have been following this issue will be aware than Andrew Pelling and I have made strong representations to the Mayor and Transport for London opposing this scheme".

"However, judging by the e-mails I have been receiving, residents are misinterpreting information contained in this leaflet and believe that that Andrew Pelling and I support the introduction of a Red Route. This is not case and I call on the perpetrators of the deception to correct this false impression. The only way to oppose schemes such as this is to present a united front against Ken Livingsone based on the facts."
