Lottery - Croydon South not getting fair deal says Ottaway

Figures released by the House of Commons show that the Croydon South constituency had one of the lowest lottery grant sums of £1, 682,000. This contrasts with the average Parliamentary constituency receiving awards of a value of £15.7 million. Croydon Central received £8,089,000 and Croydon North received £9,834,000. Inner London Greenwich and Woolwich had the highest value of awards at £677,000,000.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"I am outraged that Croydon South is not getting its fair share. I will be entering into urgent discussions with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. It is essential that Outer London gets a fair crack of the whip and that all the funding isn't put into Inner London."

"Croydon North and Central received much more than Croydon South. This reaffirms my view that whatever the area, the South of the Borough doesn't do as well as the North."

ends.
