Ottaway calls on Council to reject Day Aggregates' Planning Application and says Day Aggregates should find an alternative site

Richard Ottaway, Conservative MP for Croydon South, has written to the Leader of Croydon Council, asking that a planning application by Day Aggregates to expand their operations in Purley is rejected.

Day Aggregates, who own Purley Goods Yard, have submitted an application to Croydon Council to expand their operations there.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"Over the years I have received numerous complaints from constituents about the noise and dust created by Day Aggregates activities in Purley Goods Yard. I feel strongly that this suburban residential area is an inappropriate location for an aggregates yard and I am emphatically opposed to further expansion."

"I find it incredible that Day Aggregates have applied to expand their operations in Purley, rather than look for a more suitable location."

"I have made these points in the past, including in my submission to the Council's Unitary Development Plan last November, and I will continue to do so in the future until the Council sees sense. They should start by throwing out this application."

Ends.
