OTTAWAY WELCOMES PROGRESS OVER KINGS WOOD

Richard Ottaway, Conservative MP for Croydon South, has welcomed Croydon Council's response to residents' concerns over the management of Kings Wood raised at a public meeting held last July. Mr Ottaway, together with the Friends of Kings Wood, arranged this meeting following numerous complaints from local residents about the Council's management of this ancient woodland.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"I am delighted that Croydon Council has responded quickly to a number of concerns raised at the public meeting. Redundant wire fencing has been removed and the nettles and brambles which were growing next to footpaths have been cleared."

"It has also been confirmed that more replanting work is planned and the areas around the young trees are to be cleared twice a year to keep the undergrowth at bay. This is excellent news."

Ends.
