Ottaway welcomes reprieve for Surrey Hills Gliding Club

Richard Ottaway, Conservative MP for Croydon South, has welcomed a decision by the Ministry of Defence to grant the Surrey Hills Gliding Club permission to resume operations at Kenley Airfield. This follows a complex legal dispute over the Club's right to use the Airfield.

Richard Ottaway says:-

"The Clubs permission to fly expired on 1st March and the renewal of this permission depended on the Ministry of Defence and the Corporation of London getting to the bottom of a difficult legal wrangle in a short period of time. I am delighted that this has been achieved and am pleased to have been able to assist the Club."

"There was a period of dreadful uncertainty when the future of the Surrey Hills Gliding Club was in question. However, it is back in business which will be a tremendous relief to all the Club's members".

Ends.
