Ottaway - winner is the Conservative Party

Richard Ottaway, Conservative Member of Parliament for Croydon South, said on being eliminated from the Conservative Mayoral selection process:-

"Naturally I am disappointed not to be on the final ballot paper. However the Party will be presented with a choice of two excellent candidates, either of whom would make a first class mayor."

"The real winner is the Conservative Party which has shown it can have a free and open selection process where healthy debate is paramount, where ideas and views can be exchanged."
